Khandakar Abdullah Jahangir

Khandakar Abdullah Jahangir was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, professor, author and television presenter. He was born on 1 February 1961 in Jhenaidah district and died on 11 May 2016 in a road accident. He was the founder of As-Sunnah Trust, a non-profit educational charity organisation. He taught Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University, Bangladesh and authored many books on Islam in Bengali, English and Arabic. He also appeared on various TV channels to discuss Islamic issues. 

He was also influenced by some of the prominent Saudi scholars such as Ibn Baz, Ibn Uthaymeen and Al-Fawzan. He was known for his moderate and balanced approach to Islam. He advocated for peace and harmony among Muslims and other communities. He also wrote a book titled “Islam’s Name of Jihadism: Discussed and Undiscussed Reasons” where he analyzed the root causes and consequences of radicalism and terrorism.
