Ni'mah

In Islam, ni'mah refers to the abundant blessings and favors that Allah bestows upon his creation, including human beings. Muslims are encouraged to be grateful for these blessings and to use them in a way that is pleasing to Allah and beneficial to others. In the Quran, Allah says,

"And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful" (Quran 14:34).

Overall, ni'mah is a concept that highlights the generosity and kindness of Allah towards his creation, and it reminds Muslims to be grateful and humble in their daily lives.

As a Muslim, there are several things you can do to recognize and appreciate the ni'amah (divine blessings and favors) that Allah has bestowed upon you. Here are some points to consider:

Express Gratitude:

Quran 14:7: "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"

Hadith:

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "He who does not thank people does not thank Allah."

Reflect on Ni'amah:

Quran 16:18:

"And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

Hadith:

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Look at those who are beneath you and do not look at those who are above you, for it is more suitable that you should not consider as less the blessing of Allah.”

Share Ni'amah:

Quran 2:195: "And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good."

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people." (Sahih Bukhari 316)

Use Ni'amah for Good:

Quran 2:195: "And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good."

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Verily, every deed is judged by its final outcome." (Sahih Muslim 2204)

Remember Ni'amah in Difficult Times:

Quran 94:5-6: "Verily, with hardship comes ease. Verily, with hardship comes ease."

Hadith: Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him." (Sahih Muslim 2999)
