Tips for being proactive and diligent in striving for God’s path
And those who strove in Our way – We shall surely show them Our paths; and indeed Allah is with the virtuous.(Quran 29:69)
This verse promises divine guidance and support for those who strive to improve themselves and follow God’s path. It also encourages believers to be proactive and diligent in their efforts.
The verse implies that guidance is not a matter of chance or favoritism, but a result of sincere and earnest seeking of the truth.
The word “strive” means to put in all efforts to remove the hurdles in the way of faith, such as those created by one’s own self, Satan, or the enemies of Islam. It also means that the verse motivates believers to work hard and persevere in doing good deeds and avoiding evil deeds. The verse does not want believers to be passive or lazy in their pursuit of God’s pleasure and reward.
How can I be more proactive and diligent in my efforts?
To be more proactive and diligent in your efforts, you can follow some of these tips:
- Remember the reward and guidance that Allah promises for those who strive in His way. This will motivate you to work harder and seek His pleasure.
- Seek knowledge and learn from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) how to improve yourself and follow God's path. The Quran is a source of light and guidance, and the Sunnah is a practical example of how to apply it.
- Plan your time and prioritize your tasks. Set realistic and achievable goals for yourself and work towards them with determination and perseverance. Do not procrastinate or waste your time in vain pursuits.
- Seek help from Allah and rely on Him. Pray to Him for guidance, assistance, and success. Trust in His wisdom and decree. Do not despair or give up when you face difficulties or challenges.
- Seek help from others who are striving in God's way. Join a community of believers who can support you, advise you, and remind you of your purpose. Learn from their experiences and share your own. Cooperate with them in doing good deeds and avoiding evil deeds.
- Be grateful for what Allah has given you and use it for His sake. Appreciate the blessings and opportunities that He has bestowed upon you and do not take them for granted. Use your talents, skills, resources, and time to serve Him and benefit others.
- Be humble and sincere in your efforts. Do not seek fame, praise, or worldly gain from your work. Do it for the sake of Allah alone and seek His acceptance. Do not be arrogant or boastful about your achievements or look down on others who are less fortunate or successful than you.
