Mamata Banerjee and the Queen of Sheba
Mamata Banerjee and the Queen of Sheba have some similarities and some differences in their attitude to Muslims.
Some people may think that both of them are women leaders who have shown respect and interest in Islam and its teachings. Mamata Banerjee has a Master's degree in Islamic history, and she has appealed to Muslim voters to unite against the BJP, which she accuses of trying to cause unrest and divide the country. Similarly, according to the Quran, the Queen of Sheba was a wise and powerful ruler who visited Prophet Solomon and listened to his message of monotheism. She was impressed by his wisdom and his signs of God's favor, and she eventually embraced Islam.
However, some people may also think that there are significant differences between Mamata Banerjee and the Queen of Sheba in their attitude to Muslims. Mamata Banerjee has been accused of violating the model code of conduct by appealing to Muslims on communal lines, and of banning a film that allegedly promotes hate towards the Muslim community. Some may argue that she is using Muslims as a vote bank and not addressing their genuine issues and concerns. On the other hand, according to the Quran, the Queen of Sheba was sincere and humble in her quest for truth and justice. She did not seek any worldly gain or favor from Prophet Solomon or his followers, but rather acknowledged God's greatness and submitted to His will.
