The Importance of Studying the Signs of the End of Times

The video is a lecture by Sheikh Asrar Rashid, a Sunni scholar, on the topic of the signs of the end of times in Islam.

He discusses the following points:

  • The purpose of studying the signs of the end of times: He explains that studying the signs of the end of times has several benefits, such as avoiding fitna (tribulation), increasing iman (faith), recognizing charlatans and false messiahs, and preparing for the events that will occur before the Day of Judgment. He also warns against following conspiracy theories and propaganda that are not based on authentic sources of Islam.

  • The sources of studying the signs of the end of times: He mentions that the main sources of studying the signs of the end of times are the Quran and the Sunnah, which are the words and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He also refers to some classical and contemporary books that have compiled and analyzed the hadith (narrations) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on this topic. He criticizes some modern scholars who have misinterpreted or distorted the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on this topic, such as Sheikh Imran Hussain.

  • The signs of the end of times: He categorizes the signs of the end of times into minor and major signs. He gives some examples of the minor signs, such as the spread of ignorance, injustice, and immorality, the emergence of false prophets and claimants, the prevalence of interest and paper money, the weakness of the Muslim world, and the treachery of the Romans (which he interprets as Europe and/or Russia). He also gives some examples of the major signs, such as the appearance of the Dajjal (the false messiah), the descent of Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon him), the emergence of Gog and Magog (two destructive nations), the rising of the sun from the west, and the appearance of the Mahdi (the guided leader).

  • The role of Muslims in the end of times: He advises the Muslims to be aware of the signs of the end of times and to prepare themselves spiritually and physically for them. He urges the Muslims to follow the Quran and the Sunnah, to adhere to the mainstream creed and jurisprudence of Islam, to avoid innovations and deviations, to seek knowledge and wisdom, to perform good deeds and avoid sins, to repent and seek forgiveness, to be united and cooperate, to resist oppression and injustice, to support the Mahdi and Isa (peace be upon him), and to have trust and hope in Allah.
